Laura R. Wilkinson, beloved daughter of Gregg and Leanne Wilkinson, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2017 from health complications following a fall. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Laura grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri, graduating from Blue Springs South and the University of Missouri, Kansas City. The majority of her career was in restaurant management, with 11+ years at On the Border. She also held real estate licenses in Kansas and Missouri.
Laura enjoyed all that life had to offer. She was an avid Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs fan. She loved pop-up camping with her family in her youth, travelling abroad in her teens and early 20’s, and more recently various U.S. destinations from Colorado to Florida. She enjoyed collecting recipes, even though only a few actually got made. She followed all the local pet rescue Facebook pages closely, always wishing she could help them all. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, and did so every chance she got. She was so unique with many of her own special characteristics that could only make you laugh (or roll your eyes.)
Passing before her were her paternal grandfather and grandmother Charles and Betty Perkins, and her maternal grandmother Barbara Beikman.
She also leaves behind her stepmother Jeny Wilkinson, maternal grandfather and grandmother Harold and Mary Gibson, grandfather Ray Beikman, her aunts Marsha Jeffers and Kristen Gibson, cousins Amy Smith and Alesa Hedges, and their families, her very close friend Hallie Summerour, her dearly loved Australian Shepherds Bailey and Annie, and many friends and acquaintances.
