Terry Lee Witten, 64, of Oak Grove, MO passed away Thursday January 16, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Oak Grove, MO. A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses.
Terry was born June 24, 1949 in Mexico, MO to Tandy L. & Opal (Roberts) Witten.
Terry proudly serviced his country in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1976 as a Platoon Sargent.
Terry was stationed at Camp Liberty Bell, Korea, Company, 1/31 Infantry where he worked the DMZ. He was also stationed ACO 2/47 Infantry 9th Division, Fort Lewis Washington. Terry was also a member of C-Company 115 Infantry MEC 3rd Infantry Division, Germany. Terry was a Dealer Rep for O’Reilly Auto Parts. Terry loved to restore hotrods, and drag racing. He enjoyed playing the guitar and cooking. Terry liked watching football. He was a big Chief football fan and was also an O.U. College football fan. Terry was a member of the Oak Grove VFW.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents: Tandy & Opal Witten; 1 uncle: Jim Roberts.
Terry is survived by 3 daughters: Bridgette Lipscomb of Kansas City, MO, April Lipscomb of Nashville, TN, Lauren Deckert of Oak Grove, MO; 4 sons: Tony Lipscomb & wife Jennifer of Weston, MO, Sheridan Witten of TX, Benjamin Witten of TX, Matthew Clayton Mitchel Witten of Oak Grove, MO and his Fiancé Sarah Jackson of Blue Springs, MO; 1 sister: Nancy Stewart of Graham, TX; grandchildren: Tyler Wright, Avis Lipscomb, Chase Lipscomb
