Alaia J. Walton

Alaia Jo Walton was born on April 22, 2020 to Alexa Courtney and Trevar Walton in Kansas City, Missouri.  Sadly, she was taken from them and her loving family just 20 months later on January 11, 2022, also in Kansas City, Missouri.  Her short but beautiful life will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan 22, 2022, at 11:00 am at Abundant Life, The Core (the building between the main church and the administrative building), 402 SW Persels Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081.  Pastor Steve Brown will officiate the service and be assisted by Pastor Nick Hart.

Alaia was a beautiful and happy little girl who loved family, especially her mommy and daddy.  Her eyes always lit up when they walked into a room; and when they left the room, she cried after them, not wanting to be left behind, which was seldom; she was almost always at their sides. Alaia’s nickname was Lai Jo and she’d look in the mirror and call herself Jo Jo.  She loved watching Elmo and would sing and dance when “Elmo’s World” would play on the television.  One of her favorite things to do was “chuck” her toys over her head and watch them bounce on the floor.  The more noise they made when they fell the better.  She knew this was a “no-no”, but she’d give you that adorable grin of hers and chuck them anyway, knowing she’d really not get into trouble. Alaia will be dearly missed by everyone’s life she touched.  She was a sweet, caring, loving child who had an infectious smile and was loved by everyone who was blessed to meet her.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Paula Jo “Jodie” Kavanaugh; and great-great grandmother, Evelyn Alder.

Alaia is survived by her parents, Alexa (Lexy) Courtney and Trevar Walton; sister, Leilani; grandparents: D’Ann and Kriss Mills, Scott and Riley Courtney, Tenisha and Lennes Shaw, Anthony Walton and Tiffany Harper; great-grandparents: Keith Kavanaugh, Ron and Donna Courtney, Rhonda Williamson, Rachel Harris; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
