Shawn Patrick Dyke, 52, passed away from heart failure on January 19, 2022, at University of Health Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO.
Shawn was born April 28, 1969, in Independence, MO, the son of Charles Dyke and Rita Samborski. He attended Oak Grove Schools, graduating with the Class of 1987.
Shawn lived his life always involved in sports – from playing football, golf, and baseball in High School to coaching Little League football and being an umpire in baseball in his spare time. Shawn was always able to put a smile on your face whenever he was in his favorite spot, the kitchen. He could usually be found making the best tacos and BBQ, always with beer in his hand and a song to be sung.
Shawn’s survivors include his parents, Charles Dyke and Rita Samborski; sister, Shanin Hamilton; and children, Ashley and Bradley Dyke. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
