Delores “Dee” Jean Kirk, 84, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Mission Ridge Cemetery, Urbana, MO. Contributions may be made to Helping Hands in Odessa, MO, or to Kansas City Hospice.
Dee was born December 26, 1937, in Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of Emmit Floyd and Edna Mae (Williams) Reynolds. She was a seamstress and enjoyed traveling, spending time in south Missouri, and spending time with her family.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Bill” Kirk; two brothers, James D. Reynolds and John G. Reynolds; sister, Shirley Kirk; granddaughter, Brandy Griffin; and great-grandson, Johnny Dionne.
Her survivors include 4 children: Bruce Kirk (Cindy) of Bates City, MO, Marcia Highfill (Cliff) of Odessa, MO, Bonita Barker (Larry) of Odessa, MO, and Alice Gregorio of Independence, MO; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Bill Reynolds of Peculiar, MO, Darrell Reynolds (Alisha) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Charles Reynolds of Kansas City, MO, and Monty Sorden (Linda) of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
