Welsie Annece Mefferd, 85, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family has requested contributions be made to ~ World Education Fund, which will include building schools and tuition for orphans. Annece was born January 23, 1937 in Red Level, Alabama. The daughter of Arthur Herbert and Mary Lou (Williamson) Booker. She attended grade school in Alabama, graduated high school in Wyandotte, Michigan, blessed in Akron, Ohio and baptized in Mobile, Alabama. George T. Mefferd, from S. Dakota married Annece in River Rouge, Michigan, on May 28, 1955. Her passions were reading, crocheting, quilting, and playing the piano, music, sewing, canning and supporting her husband in his priesthood. Her most treasured possessions were her husband, children, and grandchildren. Annece was passionate about meditating in scripture. She would like to be remembered as a Christian, a child of God, a faithful wife and a good mother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ann Booker; daughter, Darla Jo Walker
Annece is survived by her husband George T. Mefferd; 3 children: Chari Pedersen (Kent), Peggy Sherer (Dan) and David Mefferd; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
