Crystal Davis

Crystal “Cris” Davis, mother and grandmother, passed away on March 18, 2022, her family announced.

Ms. Davis was born Crystal Gay Mason in Quapaw, Oklahoma, in 1929, to parents Viola and Harvey Mason and had one brother Wayne.  She met Grover Davis in Baxter Springs, Kansas, and they married in 1946.  They had Three sons, Michael, David, and Patrick.  Mr. Davis served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and the family settled in Belton, Missouri, in the 1960s.

Cris was smart, funny, loved people, and never met a stranger.  She was a voracious reader and consumer of news.  She could talk about current events, politics, history, and sports.  She loved football and especially the Kansas City Chiefs.  She was the owner and operator of a men’s clothing store for many years and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with her customers.  She was an accomplished seamstress and later taught herself to quilt.  She loved dogs and her corgi, Catie, was always by her side.

Cris is survived by her three sons, 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and of course, Catie.  Her husband died in 1998 and she never remarried.

The family will hold a celebration of her life at a future date.
