Anna Ruth Barnett, 100, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31st at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Ruth was born on March 31, 1921, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Chatfield) Baker. She was married to William “Bill” Borland for 42 years. They had two sons, James E. Borland, and Dennis Clyde Borland. The family lived in Oak Grove. In 1983, she married Elmer “Whistle” Barnett and they were married almost 20 years. Over the years, Ruth worked at Lake City and Bendix. She was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church and the Oak Grove Ladies Bridge Club.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Bill in 1979 and Whistle in 2002; son, Dennis in 2002; and five siblings.
Her survivors include one son, James Borland (Linda) of Oak Grove; three grandchildren: Valori Borland of Seattle, WA, James Borland Jr. of New York, NY, and Anna Suter (Jamie) of Chesapeake, VA; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Ryan Suter.
