Aaron Burton McArthur, 77, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Aaron was born in Brewton, AL, on February 17, 1940, son of Joseph Burton and Gracie Lee (Barnes) McArthur. He was baptized into the RLDS church at age 8. He faithfully served in his priesthood callings in both the RLDS and later in life in the Restoration Movement. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 1 son, Bradley Steven McArthur.
His survivors include his wife, Karen Ann (Whenham) McArthur of the home; 3 sons, Burton Leslie McArthur (Kelly) of Memphis, TN, Bryan Daniel McArthur of Independence, MO and Brent Gordon McArthur (Laura) of Blue Springs, MO; 1 brother, Jerald Duncan McArthur (Margaret) of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Laurel Jewel Alexander (Ralph) of Independence, MO and Miriam Hope Alexander (Randall) of Kansas City, MO; 6 grandchildren, Corey Andrew McArthur, Jackson Cooper McArthur, Paige Donna McArthur, Elizabeth Gracie McArthur, Cathryn Olivia McArthur and Duncan Leslie McArthur; 3 step-sisters and 1 step-brother, Anita Philbrick, Vicki Scott, Judy Scott and Chris Scott; and his beloved dog Sadee.
