Adam Babe Watkins was born January 12, 1971 in Independence, Missouri where he spent most of his life. He joined Jesus peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of January 19, 2025. He was proceeded in death and is now walking in heaven with his dad Billy Jess Watkins. He is survived by his mother Kathy Snitker, his wife Sheri Watkins, his sons Addison and Hunter, his daughters Miranda and Faith, his 5 grandchildren Donald, Autianna, Lucas, Isla Babe, and Calum, his brothers Junior (Nancy) and Boyd (Liz), his mother and father-in-law Bill and Donna Waltermate, and his best friend Mike Coleman.
He was a hard-working asphalt laborer since 2000 where he worked up to and ended his career as Super Intendent for Superior Bowen in 2025. During his time at Superior Bowen, he made lifelong friends who turned into brothers. He took pride in his role as the provider for his family thanks to his job and dedication to Local 663. Outside of work, his hobbies included riding his motorcycle, hunting, and traveling to Florida where he enjoyed deep-sea fishing.
Adam was the perfect example of a good man. He was a loving, loyal husband, committed father and grandfather, and dependable brother and friend. His diligence didn’t stop at work, he spent many of his winters off remodeling his home for the love of his life, Sheri. He was a man of many trades which played a heavy hand in his role as leader of his family. He made many fun-filled memories with his children and grandchildren who brought the big kid out of him. As a friend, Adam was as honest as they come; he would deliver it as a joke or give it to you straight, but you were going to know what he was thinking. Whatever role he played in your life, you knew you could count on him for anything.
He spent his final days resting in the beautiful home he rebuilt. He was surrounded by his wife and children, having whatever meal he asked for. And on his final day, he listened to the Chiefs win, he was baptized and made comfortable, accompanied by his wife Sheri, and his daughters. May he rest in peace and may we keep his memory alive.
Adam requested not to hold a funeral or service, but he wanted a celebration of life. This will be held in the spring of 2025. When the arrangements have been made, we will post the details. We want to welcome all who knew and loved him to join us to celebrate him and share memories.
