Alvina G. Rodgers


Alvina Gertrude Floyd Rodgers, 91, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

Alvina was born on July 14, 1915, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James and Anna ( Thompson) Floyd. She married Louis F. “Bud” Rodgers on May 23, 1934. Alvina was a sewing machine operator for Jack’s Trim Shop. She and Bud also worked for Safety Storage in Blue Springs for 5 years in the late 1980’s/ She was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church and loved playing cards. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents. 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and her husband.

She is survived by 3 sons: Jim Rodgers & his wife, Dorothy, of Odessa, MO, Fred Rodgers & his wife, Maralee, of Grain Valley, MO, & Richard (Jake) Rodgers & his wife, Pat, of Federal Way, WA; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
