Alyce F. Kyser


Alyce Faye Kyser, 86, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Visitation is 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Church of Jesus Christ New Jerusalem Branch ~ 1527 E. 24 Hwy, Independence, MO. 64050.

Alyce Faye Chevalier was born May 17, 1936 in Tampa, Florida to Arthur Chevalier Jr. and Emily Smith Chevalier. She attended Oak Grove Elementary, Oak Grove Junior High, and Hillsboro High School in Tampa, graduating in 1955. She attended the RLDS church in Tampa where her father was a pastor. At the age of eight, he baptized her in Twin Lakes, Florida. Alyce was a faithful member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was an accomplished musician, studying piano and organ for ministry to the Saints. Alyce often sang with friends at church.  With a focus on sciences, she left Tampa for Graceland College in 1955. Alyce received her AA degree in 1957, moving on to Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO. There she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. While attending Lindenwood, she met her first husband, Glenn David Lambkin. They were married August of 1958 in Tampa FL. To this union were born, Glenn David Jr. and Loren Scott Lambkin. Glenn worked for Gray Bar Electric. He was transferred to Ohio where they settled in Willoughby. They remained there for several years and later returned to Independence, Missouri. At this point, Alyce taught “San” nursing students. She then decided to pursue a nursing career and returned to Graceland for a B.S.N. degree. Tragedy entered their lives when Scott was killed May 3, 1989. Soon to follow the loss of her husband, Glenn David, in August of 1990. Alyce continued to maintain the family home and farm in Grain Valley, MO. She found happiness again in her marriage to George Rawlins in December of 1990. Tragedy struck again with the death of George in October of 1999. Alyce used her skills in Home Nursing. She married once again to Benjamin Kyser of Miami, Oklahoma, in August of 2002. They lived in Ben’s home for a while, but then returned to her beloved farm in Grain Valley. They continued farming until Ben’s death in January of 2020. For six years Teresa Loyd was Alyce’s caregiver, followed by three others. But, through all the years of living on her beloved farm, Robert Sanders, wife Debbie and children Isaac, Grace, Savannah, Elijah, Micah, and Isaiah were adored by her and considered “family.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Claudia (Howard) Sabin and Helen Chevalier; husbands: Glenn David Lambkin Sr., George Rawlins, and Ben Kyser; sons: Glenn David Jr. and Loren Scott.

Alyce is survived by brothers: Arthur (Carol), John (Diana) and Norman Chevalier; grandsons: Brian Lambkin, Aaron (Emily) Lambkin, Ronnie, Jay (Crystal); granddaughter, Emily (Lynn) Pepper.
