Anita Faith Waldron (Wilson), 59, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away peacefully at the Kansas City Hospice House on September 28, 2015 surrounded by her family after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Barbara Wilson.
She was born on April 24, 1956, in Man, West Virginia. Anita moved to the Kansas City area at a young age. She attended Westport High School and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1974. She also attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City, Medical School.
Anita met the love of her life, Richard (Rick) Waldron, at Houlihan’s and their first date was on St. Patrick’s Day. The two were married on November 10, 1979. Soon after, they started their family and settled into their current home in Blue Springs, MO, where they have made countless wonderful memories over the last 35 years.
Anita is survived by her loving husband, Rick; her three daughters, Courtney (husband Bas Rol, son Kees), Amy (husband John Benne, daughters Madilynn and Leighton), Kate (husband Chris Teuber, daughter Penny); her sister, Susan Wilson; and countless other family and friends who love, adore and will greatly miss her.
Anita’s amazing traits and reasons to be loved are far too numerous to list here. However, her greatest legacy, and no doubt the one of which she would be most proud, is that of an exceptionally loving, caring, protective and giving wife, mother and grandmother (or “Nini”). She will be eternally missed, but she can leave knowing she made this world a better place through her presence, her example, and the inspiration she has left for those following behind her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs on Friday, October 2nd from 6:30-8:30 PM. A sharing of memories will follow at 8:30 PM. An additional Celebration of Life will be held from 8:30-9:30 AM on Saturday, October 3rd before the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 9:30 AM at St. John LaLande.
In lieu of flowers, Anita and her family have requested that donations be made to the Jackson County CASA.
