Barbara Dean Foster, 89, of Independence, Missouri passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, Missouri; burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery, Independence, Missouri. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Barbara was born on April 21, 1934 in Stockton, Missouri, daughter of Fred and Georgia (Hudson) Bridges. Barbara had many hobbies including square dancing, ceramics, needle point, quilting, sewing, and even camping in her earlier years. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; grandson, Grant Foster; sisters: Brenda Bredehoeft and Beverly Robertson; brother, Freddie Bridges.
Barbara is survived by her children: daughter, Melodye Nicholls (Steve) of Blue Springs, MO; son, Brian Foster (Kim) of Bates City, MO; grandchildren: Jared Nicholls (Jennifer) of Blue Springs, MO; Cassandra Nicholls of Grain Valley, MO; Briana Wallace of Bates City, MO; Zachary Foster (Amanda) of Independence, MO; great-grandchildren: Mason, Memphis, Beau and one on the way; sister, Betty High (Don) of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother, James Bridges (Kathy) of Stockton, MO; sister, Lynda Hamilton (Denny) of Oak Grove, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
