Betty Lanpher passed away peacefully at Wilshire Lakewood Rehabilitation Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri on Thursday morning, September 12th 2024 with family by her side. Visitation will be at 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2024 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Graveside and burial at 1:00 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.
Betty was born April 17, 1939 the daughter of Herbert T. Cross and Lillian (Parker) Cross in Clarence, Missouri. Betty spent most of her adult life as a homemaker and working as a librarian at Pitcher Elementary School in Independence, MO. She also enjoyed flower gardens and making wood crafts with her husband. In addition, she enjoyed attending craft shows for ideas and picking up additional crafts for her home, yard or Christmas gifts for family. She was a longtime member of Westridge Christian Church in Raytown, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert T. Cross and Lillian Cross.
Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Gerald Lanpher of Odessa, Missouri; 3 children: David Lanpher of Blue Springs, MO, Jarrett Lanpher of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Darla McGonigle of Blue Springs, MO; 8 grandchildren: David Michael, Ryan, Jared, Daniel, Dalton, Justine, Andrea, Jax; and 5 great- grandchildren: Lykan, Ava, Camden, Aria and Noa.
