Billy was born to Claudie Weinstein and Irene White Weinstein on July 13, 1941 at home in rural Lamar Missouri. Until about 1950-51 his family moved about the area and lived in several different rural homes all in Barton County MO. They then moved to Traver, California where they worked on a turkey ranch until about 1954-55. They moved from California back to Missouri and lived at Tarsney Lakes, near Grain Valley. Bill lived there until he got married to Barbara Eunbanks in June of 1960. In 1972 they moved into their newly built home in rural Bates City where he lived until his death.
He attended Lee’s Summit High School. He worked at Lake City Arsenal and other odd jobs until he went to work for Santa Fe railroad until his retirement shortly after Burlington Northern bought them out.
Bill and Barbara had 3 children, Phillip Wayne, Jeffery Leon and Timothy Craig. Tragically, all three sons preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Irene, his baby sister Virginia Weinstein Nally and his younger brother Larry.
Bill is survived by his two brothers, Garry Weinstein and wife Debbie of Ridgedale, MO, and Marvin Weinstein and wife Pam of Littleton, CO. His daughter by choice, Deborah Heck and husband David of Bates City, MO. Grandchildren Jackie Weinstein, Christopher Weinstein and wife Tiffany, their children Tristiny and Cason, Matthew Weinstein and husband Sam, Jeremiah and Michelle Weinstein with their first baby girl on the way, Emma Weinstein and husband David, Ashley Cozort and husband Nathan, their five children Madison, Hallie, Lucy, Charlotte and Evie, Joshua Heck and wife Hope, Candice Heck and her son Jayden, Robert Heck and wife Ashley and their son Bentley, and Dustin Heck and wife Laura, and multiple nieces and nephews that will miss him greatly.
His hobbies included flower gardening, welding, fishing, working on old cars and other machinery, going to auctions, woodworking, building things for his grandkids, including beautiful miniature doll houses, playing practical jokes, helping his neighbors, traveling with his grandchildren and traveling to visit family across the country. He enjoyed taking cruises with his family and many family camping trips. He was a big Chiefs fan and had a loud railroad horn he liked to blow every time the game began and whenever they scored. He had a sweet tooth like no other, and he loved sharing sweets with his grands and great grands.
