
Bobbi Jo Hughes, age 58, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at University Health Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Bobbi is survived by her husband, Daniel Hughes; her son, Dustin Griffin; her siblings, Faye Burris, James Jura II, Karen Lemonds, and John Jura; her step-daughters, Melissa Hughes, Christina Hughes, and Danielle Hughes; and her grandchildren, Tyler Hughes, Dominik Ortiz, Morgan Baxter, Christianie Hughes, Jared Duncan, and Adonis Margo.
Bobbi is preceded in death by her father, James Jura; and her mother, Arlene (Abernathey) Jura.
Bobbi was born on June 4, 1964, to her parents James and Arlene Jura at General Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She later moved with her family to Bates City, Missouri where she lived with her 4 siblings, and she graduated from Oak Grove High School in Oak Grove, Missouri in 1982. In 1987, Bobbi was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and underwent many surgeries due to her Crohn’s Disease and many other health conditions. On April 29,1992, her son, Dustin was born, and she was always his biggest cheerleader. On April 22, 2000, she married her husband Daniel, where they resided in Independence, Missouri.
Bobbi dreamed of becoming a Registered Nurse, however worked as a Certified Medical Technician in nursing homes in Oak Grove, Missouri, Truman Medical Center – Lakewood in Kansas City, Missouri, and Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Raytown, Missouri. She began working as a Clinical Case Manager at ReDiscover Health, located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in 2011 and worked there until her passing. She was committed to making sure she knew everyone’s name and backstory, and could light up a room with her infectious smile and personality. Her passion in life was to help others.
Bobbi resided in Independence, Missouri with her husband, Daniel and granddaughter, Christianie. She was a humble, kind-hearted, generous & loving woman. She always put others before herself. She was a firm believer in Christ and attended church when she was physically able at The Gathering Baptist Church, formerly Noland Road Baptist Church, in Independence, Missouri.
Bobbi endured many health conductions for many years and through it all, she never lost her love for the Lord, family, and friends. Until she couldn’t speak, she would say, “The Lord has blessed me”.
Bobbi was cremated at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Missouri: the same location that her parents were also cremated. In place of a funeral, there will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at The Gathering Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri at 3:00pm. We know that she would not want anyone to be sad, but instead happy and blessed that you knew her.
