Candance J. Clark

But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord – Joshua 24:15

An angel on Earth taken too soon…

Candance “Candy” Jo Clark was born on March 15, 1956, in Independence, MO, to Fred F. Westmoreland and Iona (Robinette) McCorkle both whom preceded her in death, along with her stepfather, Robert “Pop” McCorkle, her husband William “Bill” R. Clark, and her brother Everette Duane Nay. Candy is survived by two children of the home, Kevin Joseph Cramer and A’na Michelle Clark.  Other survivors include her older brother Melvin “Mel” Lloyd Nay (Lela) of Carl Junction, MO, 13 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Candy graduated from Truman High School in 1974.  She was a bus aide for Lakeview Woods State School until Kevin graduated in 1994. Candy was a very devoted mother and loved every single second of it. So much so, she homeschooled A’na. No matter what came her way she faced it head-on, smiled, and never once complained. Candy was known to enjoy boating, tubing, sunbathing, and spending time with family at the lake summer after summer.  Candy never left her house without her hair and makeup done; no exceptions.  She was known to sleep in curlers every single night and still get up to curl her hair every morning. Everything had to match from her earrings to her heels. Candy enjoyed game nights, endless telephone calls, slumber parties, macaroni and cheese at two in the morning, and taking road trips on a whim. At 28 years old, Candy gave her heart to the Lord.  She was a devoted Christian. When the church doors opened, Candy was always there.  She helped with Missionettes, taught Sunday school, and loved helping in the nursery.  Candy and Bill took a trip of a lifetime to Israel to walk where Jesus walked and to see the Dead Sea. Candy loved nothing more than leading others to the Lord and knowing where their eternity would be spent. She was a true prayer warrior for all! In her free time, Candy enjoyed crafting, sewing, arranging flowers, cooking, baking, decorating her home, and shopping. Her door was always open to anyone in need and was always a phone call away no matter the day or time.

Candy loved life and would not want us to mourn because she is with Jesus. To honor her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 1:00 pm, at the Kansas City Church, 7700 N. Church Rd., Kansas City, MO 64158.

  1. My sincerest sympathy to the Children of Candy and Family at the passing of an Angel, Candy. She was a Great Sister-in-Law and Friend. Very Caring person and will definitely be missed. God be with You and Keep you. We will see her again with Hope and Love in Christ. – Jenny (Patterson) Hayes
