Catherine Louise Wiggins went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024. She was born August 26, 1948 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Clifford and Ione (Fischer) Curran. She attended Whittlesey Grade School in Whittlesey, Wisconsin and Pleasant Heights Grade School in Medford, Wisconsin. She graduated from Medford High School in 1966 and Stout State University, Menomonie, Wisconsin in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art. After working for the H.C. Prange Co. as an interior designer she moved to Kansas City to work for the Folger Coffee Co. as their account’s controller pacific division, totally switching occupations from art to design to business.
In 1974 she married Donald Trease. Together they opened a major appliance and television store in Blue Springs, MO. They later divorced but Catherine continued to work in the major appliance and television business for the next 20 years until 1995. She also worked for the United States Postal Service, Lee’s Summit, MO until she retired in 2001. In 1983 Catherine married Richard Wiggins Sr.
She is survived by her husband Richard Wiggins of Blue Springs, MO; step-son, Richard Jr. of Kansas City, MO; step-daughter, Audrey of Pleasant Hill, MO; sister, Sara (Dennis) Cook of Franklin, TN; brother Bill (Ronetta) Curran of Medford, WI; sister-in-law, Dixie Pickett of Independence, MO; Linda (Jerry) Robbins of Kansas City, MO; Robert (Sue) Wiggins of Grain Valley, MO; Jack (Doris) Wiggins of Independence, MO; Gary (Cathy) Wiggins of Flemington, NJ; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces and many wonderful relatives, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law’s: Karen, Margaret and Belva; brother-in-law’s: Donald, Bernie and David.
Catherine accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was 31 years old, May 1980 at First Baptist Church, Blue Springs, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lee’s Summit Bible Church, 1200 NE Colbern Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
