Cecil Jay Abbott, 82, of Buckner, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22nd at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.
Cecil was born January 8, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas, son of Herman and Myra (Goold) Abbott. He owned Abbotts Appliance Repair Service and was also the president of IMCA in Grain Valley. Cecil was a former Blue Springs Police Officer. Cecil was a member of the Restoration Branch of The Church of the Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed leather working and made Indian drums.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wilma Abbott in 1998; and son, Douglas Abbott in 1982.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Strickland (Terry) of Buckner, MO; grandson, David Strickland of Buckner, MO; stepson, Wayne Marble (Maria) of Blue Springs, MO; and many other family members.
