
Charles “Charlie” Fred Hawthorne, 83, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for the care of Upper Campground Cemetery in Kingston, AR, or Kingsville Baptist Church in Kingsville, MO.
Charlie was born June 11, 1934, in Kingston, Arkansas, the son of J. Coleman and Vergie (Sparks) Hawthorne. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Charlie retired from TWA in 1992 as an airline mechanic. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family.
Charlie married Rita Villines in 1954 and is survived by his wife and their three children: son Greg Hawthorne & wife Peggy of Holden, MO, daughter Kellie Montgomery & husband Troy of Parkville, MO, and daughter Julie Wilson & husband Paul of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers: J.D. Hawthorn & wife Jeanette, and Herb Hathorn & wife Carla Sue. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Raymond Hathorn, Lois Hausam, Jack Hathorn, and Carl Hathorn.
