Charles Lee Roy Hulse, 76, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; burial in Mecklin Cemetery, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Grove or to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
Charles was born September 29, 1942, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Lee Roy and Harriette (McMillin) Hulse Jr. He was a 1960 graduate of Oak Grove High School and was in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1964-1966. Charles married Patricia A. Holcomb on April 22, 1966. He was a car loader at Ford for 41 years, retiring in 2002. Charles loved farming and enjoyed spending time with his country friends. He was a country music fan and enjoyed attending concerts. Charles loved his family and enjoyed taking his grandson to Kleinschmidt’s to buy boots. He was a member of First Baptist Church and helped with the Meals on Wheels program.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife, Patty of the home; daughter, Christy Melhorn (Mark) of Oak Grove; grandson, Tyler Melhorn; two sisters: Harriette Wrisinger (Duke) of Oak Grove, and Nancy Jackson (Jack) of Frederick, CO; and several nieces & nephews.

17 Sep 2020I saw Charles’s obituary in the Examiner. Patty & Christy I’m so sorry for your loss. I pray God will guide you through difficult days. Patty I feel bad they we haven’t kept in touch. You’ve always been a favorite of mom & myself. I’m not sure I have your telephone number but mine is (the FH has the phone number!). I’d love to talk with you. Life can get lonely.
