The youngest of 10 children born to Clarence and Marie Vaughn on December 14, 1945, in Grand Forks, ND, raised in Rapid City, SD, Chuck served in the U.S Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he married his high school sweetheart, Leajean Steele, and together they loved and cared for 2 daughters. A hardworking man, Chuck traveled across the country for his job, where he met his 2nd wife, and the love of his life, Lynda McKinney Vaughn. Together they raised 2 daughters until her death in 2001.
A true Patriot, Chuck was never afraid to show his appreciation and love for his country. He was honored to serve his country and enjoyed sharing his story with others.
Handsome and charming as he was, Chuck never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting new people. He enjoyed traveling in his Mustang Convertible, with the top down and the music up, and he was able to check one off his bucket list, driving across America, down Route 66. Chuck also had a passion for motorcycles and boats and loved living the “lake life”.
Chuck was a family man, and he enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren. Family was important and his love for his family will live on.
Charles is survived by his 4 daughters: Shelley Rae Bartschi, Tina Marie Risseeuw, Jennifer Olitta Limberg and Holly Marie Denham; and sons-in-law, Keith Denham and Troy Limberg.
