
Claude Dean Bridges, also known as Clyde, Johnson, Pa Pa Clyde, 87 of Atherton, Mo passed away on Thursday February 27th, 2025, at Centerpoint hospital. Funeral services will be held at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, Mo. on Friday, March 7th, 2025. Visitation will be 3:00pm – 4:00pm. Funeral will be at 4:00pm with graveside services following in New Salem Cemetery.
He was born June 9th, 1937, in Falls City, Nebraska to Dick and Emma Lou Bridges (Mooney). He loved camping and fishing at Bucksaw with his daughters, deer hunting in Wyoming, feeding the hummingbirds and squirrels and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved making his own fishing sinkers. He also loved growing tomatoes and gardening.
He was a forklift driver for Clark’s Manufacturing, later changing to Lely Manufacturing until it closed. He then became a forklift driver for Barbour Concrete where he retired from.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Emma Lou Bridges, sister Barbara Wing and son-in-law Glynn Graybill.
He is survived by his daughters Tina Forkner (Harlan), Dorothy Graybill and Joyce Dysart (Rick), his 8 grandchildren Richie (Abra), Jason (Jessica), Cheyanne, Kelly (Nick), Frankie (Amanda), Jackie (Lorenzo), Cassie (Kody) and Nick (Kamryn), 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. His brother Delbert Bridges, sisters Sharon Byrom, Linda Bowling and Laura Jackson (Bud) and many nieces and nephews.
