
Connie Sue Keck, 65, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Purple Stride in Kansas City, MO.
Connie was born September 30, 1951, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of George W. and Mildred M. (McRae) Smith. She owned and operated Keck’s Longhorn Root Beer. Connie was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Crossties Cowboy Church, and the American Paint Horse Association. She loved horses and enjoyed going on trail rides, attending social activities, spending time with the friends she met through the root beer concessions, and especially attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Carol Smith; her husband, Gary Keck; and grandson, Evan Cowan.
Her survivors include two sons: Pat Smith of Agency, MO, and Troy Smith (Dana) of Oak Grove; sister, Kathy Smith Johnson; three stepdaughters: Stacey Gates (Mark) of Kansas City, KS, Shayla Keck of Warrensburg, MO, and Dana Sanders of Xenia, OH; and nine grandchildren: Megan Smith, Logan Smith, Dalton Smith, Carson Smith, Chance Joyner, Gunner Joyner, Madde Sanders, Hannah Sanders, and Gracie Sanders.
