Cynthia L. Douglas


Cynthia (Cindy) Lea Douglas, passed quietly on June 19, 2018 at John Knox Village Hospice Center.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23rd at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to John Knox Village Hospice, Cancer Research, or a charity close to your heart.

Cindy was born at home in Vining, OK on September 2, 1937 to Clint & Rosa Green.  She attended high school in Jett, OK, graduating in 1955.  She married George Alvin Douglas on September 8, 1955 and started their lives together in Sault Saint Marie, MI, and later moved to Independence, MO. 

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George of 40 years; and seven siblings: Pauline Grimes, Leota Marquart, Burt Green, Viola McCall, Clifford Green, Patsy Prewette, & Ralph Green. 

She is survived by three siblings: Pearl Weeks, Sue Thrasher (Fred), and Max Green; two sons: George Alvin Douglas, Jr of Fair Grove, MO, and Ricky Jerome Douglas (Carol) of Weston, MO; daughter, Terri Lea Baldwin of Oak Grove, MO; six grandchildren: Patrick S. Douglas, Adam J. Douglas, Travis J. Douglas, Lauren M. Grenier, Devin M. McConnell, and Coty W. Baldwin; and many great-grandchildren and friends.
