Daniel “Danny” Lawrence Rader, 64, of Sweet Springs, MO, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 after his battle with COPD. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4th in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Danny was a graduate of Fort Osage High School where he was a star baseball player. He enlisted in the National Guard and graduated from boot camp in September 1977. He worked at Allis Chalmers in Independence, MO.
In 1979, on New Year’s Eve, Danny’s life was forever changed after a devastating car accident left him with a traumatic brain injury; through this Danny had an unwavering strength and fighting spirit to keep living and stay alive.
Danny loved watching the Royals play baseball, listening to music, playing pool, crossword puzzles, chocolate shakes, and celebrating the 4th of July with his family. He had a warm smile and a great laugh.
The last four years Danny lived with his brother Vic and his family. Vic wanted Danny to have fun and enjoy life before he passed. We love you Danny, you will be missed.

3 Dec 2023I have known Danny for 20 years through his sister Doris Lion. Danny loved playing a game of card’s and I beat him the last time that I saw him. I told him that we would play again soon but as always, life got in the way. I never saw Danny again once he moved to Sweet Springs Missouri. He was a very good friend and he was very funny guy! He will be missed. We’ll play another game of card’s in heaven Danny!

4 Dec 2023Rosie, my thoughts are with you and your family today as you say goodbye to Danny. You spoke of him often so I know this is a tough day for you. I will always remember the day we sat in the general admission section of Kauffman Stadium and watched Danny enjoy his beloved Royals while offering to buy beer for everyone around us! Bless Victor and Amy, especially, and the entire Rader family. RIP, Danny.

We were nearby neighbors to Danny and his Sweet Momma from September 1984 untill they sold the house here on 18th st N after his Momma passed away. I remember him sitting on the front porch ALWAYS a big wave and that huge smile when I passed the house. Even with disability he mowed the grass for his mom sometimes. Dropped by for a chat if my husband or I were in our yard.
Fly high Danny your new Heavenly body is pain free from all that hurt you.
Vic so glad he was cared for by you and your wife and you made great memories with him.
I just saw this is why I did not attend his service.
Prayers for all of the Rader family. 🙏🕊
