He made a difference for so many! Thanking God for Dave, knowing that he is rejoicing with his Savior and praying for Kim, Steven, Chris and all the family to know God’s promised comfort now and in the future. II Corinthians 1:7

Visited him and watched his miraculous recovery. He was truly a very special individual, Very competitive but sharing and always willing to assist. My sincere condolences to the family, may his memory be the guidance you reference as you continue forward.

I spent a short time with him in the Spring of 1987. I think many of you who met him later during his life experienced those same qualities. We were working at Bayer and participating in sporting events like The Kansas City Corporate Challenge. I invited him to join a group of cyclists training a couple of days a week after work from Independence. Dave’s athleticism and friendly demeanor easily fit with this group. He helped and inspired many of us on these rides. I was away on vacation and was not with the group that day of the accident around the Fourth of July. On my return Dave’s future vision had changed. I visited Dave in the hospital. It was just the two of us. There wasn’t a lot to be said; he was facing an uncertain challenge. How he moved on and accommodated to live life to the fullest shows his tremendous strength. I will never forget Dave. Over the years I would periodically hear from acquaintances about Dave’s unbelievable progress. One time I read an article in the KC Star about Halloween stories Dave was sharing with neighbors and friends. Many years later, in the fall of 2019, I was very surprised to meet Dave and Kim by coincidence at a fund raiser. It was great to reminisce. But, the best thing was listening to him and seeing his enthusiasm. He was still the same person I knew from 1987 accepting any challenge and sharing his gifts for all who touched his life.

My prayers for comfort and peace for his family and friends. David attended my oldest grandson Justin Alexander’s funeral at Ft. Osage Church of The Nazarene 09/26/2019 with the Patriot Guard. What a honor and memory to have friends and strangers on their motorcycles honoring Justin! Thank you Dave, you will be missed.

Shellie and I always enjoyed our time with David and Kim. Whether it was riding in his antique car, eating out, fishing in his pond, or just having a good visit. Although I didn’t see him that often, when I did it was special. It is hard to believe he is gone, but he really isn’t. I know he is with his Lord whom he loved so much. I can hear him laughing now with that sarcastic sense of humor as he enjoys heaven. I look forward to the day when we and all of God’s people are all reunited with David and our Lord Jesus Christ. Shellie and I are praying for you Kim, Boog, and Steven.
