David M. McCorkle


David Michael McCorkle (66) was born on September 1, 1957, and passed August 24, 2024. He was the son of Burford and Martha McCorkle.

David lived a life of many experiences. Early in life, David had a passion for working with animals one that he never lost. David had very special bonds with a few Labrador Retrievers (Bandi, Amber, and Grace).

He met his wife Maureen Burnett McCorkle and found his life partner. They spent many years before having children traveling and building many memories, some of the fondest in Hawaii.

David was a proud member of the United States Army, serving in Iraq as a member of the Army Reserves from 2003-2004 along with prior military service. When David returned home, he found his passion for helping others and started a charity for children in Iraq. David had a heart that was built for caring for others and will be dearly missed. His final wishes were to be celebrated by spreading his ashes in Grand Lake, CO. Service details will be provided later.

David was preceded in death by his father Burford McCorkle, his brother Steven McCorkle, and his wife Maureen McCorkle. He is survived by his mother Martha McCorkle his two sons Joseph (Miranda) McCorkle and Kevin McCorkle, as well his current wife and caretaker, Marian Delmendo.

  1. Dave McCorkle was my friend. I was lucky enough to work with Dave for several years and they were some of the best years of my life. Dave was a wonderful friend and an even better person. The world is a sadder place without him. God bless Dave.
