Dean Lewis Sanders, 61, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Memories of Dean will be shared around 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Missouri State Beekeeper’s Association, 401 NW Heady Ave. Ferrelview, MO 64163.
Dean was born on March 28, 1957 in Kansas City, MO son of Walter and Sylvia (Coffelt) Sanders. He was a steel worker for over 15 years before transitioning into bee keeping, which was his true passion. He was an officer in the Missouri State Beekeepers Association and organized the state beekeepers booth for 18 years at the Missouri State Fair. He loved spending time outdoors and spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in nature.
He is preceded in death by his father.
His survivors include his mother, Sylvia Sanders of Oak Grove; brother, Paul Sanders (Jamie) of Blue Springs; daughter, Heather (David) Orleman of Olathe, KS; son, Dustin (Crystal) Sanders of Oak Grove; 4 grandchildren, Caroline Neitch, Carter Orleman, Preston Sanders and Hunter Sanders; and 2 nephews, Derick and Brian Sanders.
