Debra “Debbie” Lynn Gilmore, 64, of Buckner, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020. The family will have a visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 14th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15th in Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fort Osage Fire District.
Debbie was born February 25, 1956 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Alphia and Helen (Crowder) Robinson. On May 5, 1990, Debbie and Dennis were married. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She liked to fish and was a collector of Mickey Mouse. Debbie worked 18 years for the Fort Osage Fire District. She was the first full time paramedic. In addition, Debbie was the first woman to pioneer getting women into the Fort Osage Fire District. She was a lifetime VFW Auxiliary member. Debbie served on the city council in Buckner and was elected as mayor. She loved spending time with and visiting with friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father; sister, Rhonda Farmer; and father-in-law, Bill Gilmore.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Gilmore of the home; mother in-law, Lorraine Gilmore of Buckner, MO; sister-in-law, Marie Turner (Ted) of Sibley, MO; sister-in-law, Sheryl Rudy (Bill) of Cottageville, SC; niece, Shanna Turner of Buckner, MO; her beloved dog, Butch and cat Casey; and many other relatives in MO, IL, and SD.
