Debra R. Geiman

Debra Renee (Andresen) Geiman, born in Racine, Wisconsin, on August 24th, 1957, took her last earthly breath at 11:28pm on December 4th, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Odessa, Missouri.

She is loved by all who knew her, and all who knew her were loved and prayed for by her. She was an extremely hard worker and her hands were never idle. Many knew her as a musician and songwriter, seamstress, baker, prep cook, teacher, secretary, birdwatcher, puzzle whiz, Scrabble enthusiast and avid reader. Her favorite Bible verses were Philippians 4:6-7. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

She leaves a beautiful legacy to live on through her 6 children and their spouses: Jonathan Geiman (Charla), Benjamin Geiman (Hannah), Laura Gerard (Troy), Elizabeth Serig (Nathaniel), Carla Lumas (Phillip), Kristin Bost (Bryan); and her 14 grandchildren: Noah, Faith, Naomi, & Torianna Serig; Adele, Declan, & Amelia Geiman; Eliza Creager & Montrell Lumas; Evelyn, Savannah & Lincoln Gerard; and Ravyn & David Gideon Bost.

She lived according to the words of her song, “Take me, Lord, use me, Lord; Let me be transformed by You. Take my life, I give it to You. I will always follow You.”

Mama Deb, as she often called herself, created and made so many beautiful things, including blankets, hats and scarves for countless individuals. Through the network of the non-profit organization Warm Up America!, the works of her hands have made an impact on the lives of people she never personally knew.  She demonstrated deep compassion and care through the time and energy she gave to her creations.
