
Devin James Bruntmyer, born September 13th, 1993 Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska passed away October 29th, Centerpoint Hospital, Independence, MO. Devin grew up in Anchorage, Alaska; Casper, Wyoming and Independence, Missouri. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence in 2010. He worked for FEDEX Ground for over 10 years. He started out as a sorter of inbound packages then also became a switcher, driving switcher trucks to move trailers around in and out of dock bays. During his free time, he loved spending time with family and friends. He loved playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends and coworkers. He was also a huge fan and player of Pokemon with cards and Pokemon Go, a mobile ap. He would meet his cousins and friends and drive all around the Metro area to chase down elusive Pokemon. He also loved to go bowling. Devin had a HUGE heart and would give anybody the shirt off his back if they needed it.
Devin was an active member of EPIC Church in Independence, MO. He volunteered in the kid’s services running the audio/video during the first service, and had done so for 9 plus years. During the second service, Devin volunteered for security detail doing whatever was required for that day, but mostly was patrolling the parking lot to keep visitors vehicles secured.
Devin was preceded in passing by Grandparents Leroy and Julie Briggs of Casper, Wyoming; Marvin Bruntmyer and Waneta Rager, Independence, Missouri and cousin Bradley Bruntmyer of Grain Valley, Missouri.
Left behind is his: mother, Wendy Bruntmyer, of Bar Nunn, Wyoming; dad and step-mother Raymond and Lisa Bruntmyer of Independence, Missouri; brothers: Joshua Bruntmyer, Barr Nunn, Wyoming; Justin and sister-in-law Carly, nieces Emi and Emberly of Casper, Wyoming; Donaven Bruntmyer of Bar Nunn, Wyoming; sister and brother-in-law Lauren and Gilbert Olmedo of Blue Springs, Missouri; nephews Gilberto, Alejandro Olmedo of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Jayden and Lucas Olmedo of Blue Springs, Missouri. Many aunts and uncles and cousins throughout Missouri and Wyoming and a multitude of friends.
Devin’s memorial service will be held on November 11th, 1 p.m. at Epic Church, 3711 S. Whitney Ave, Independence, Missouri, 64055.
