Dewey F. Blankenship

It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my father, Dewey Franklin Blankenship, who left us on February 18, 2025 at the age of 85.  Services will be held on Sunday, February 23rd at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, MO, with visitation at 12:00pm and funeral at 1:00pm, followed by burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dewey served in the United States Army as an MP from 1962-1964 stationed in Fort Wolters, Mineral Wells, TX. He was an auctioneer for over 50 years. He loved to farm and was an avid fisherman and hunter. His greatest joy was sharing this tradition with his grandchildren.

Dewey is survived by his daughter Tamera Yeager (James); son Darron Blankenship; his much-loved grandchildren: Ashley Lewis (Levi), John Landis (Ashley), Shea Blankenship, Brady Blankenship, Colvin Blankenship, and Nancy Drew; his great-grandsons, Levi Lewis and Dewey-Lee Landis; his sisters: Lois Lewis, Sue Lahey (Bill), and Louise Kingston; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

His grandchildren have requested that if you have a picture of Dewey, to please bring it as well as the story that goes along with it, and share with them after the service.
