Dianne Elizabeth Triplett, 79, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO. Arrangements are pending for a small private gathering with cremation burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Dianne suggested memorial donations to your favorite local pet shelter.
Dianne was born February 17, 1944, in Independence, MO, the daughter of George Milton Triplett and Pearl Doris (Dryer) Triplett. She had fond memories of growing up on the family farm near Sibley, MO, and spending time with her family, friends, and many cousins. Dianne’s high school activities included National Honor Society, Pep Club, Basketball, Yearbook Staff, and Band, where she excelled at playing the French horn. After graduating with the Class of 1962 from Oak Grove High School, Dianne studied Music and Education at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and was in Marching Mizzou. Having earned Education degrees and her Life Teaching Certificate from UMC in 1967, she embarked on a 15-year career as band director for Elena L. Christian Junior High School in Christiansted, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Dianne’s notable career was shortened due to health complications, followed by time in Puerto Rico for appropriate health care, after which she returned to Independence, MO, to be near her family. Dianne’s later years were highlighted by her love and care for her parents, her amazing variety and number of pets, watching her Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers, her home decorations, notable cooking skills, making costume jewelry, frequent shopping excursions, and visiting or dining out with friends and cousins.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents; and a greatly missed brother, George Milton Triplett Jr. who died in a care accident in October 1967.
She is survived by a brother, Charles F. Triplett and wife Judy (Durham) Triplett of Sibley, MO, and their family.
