Donald D. Blankenship


Donald Dewayne Blankenship, 76, of Independence, MO passed away October 27, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and dedication to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Jeanne Blankenship, his children Alex and Clint Blankenship, and his stepchildren Ladonna Broten, Daniel Sego, and John Sego. He was a proud grandfather to Alexandra Bradley, Trace Blankenship, Abigail Fowler, Vincent Blankenship, Nicole Blankenship, Randy Broten, Bett Broten, Laura Sego, Jordan Sego, Sage Sego, and Adyn Sego, and he leaves behind seven cherished great-grandchildren. 

Born in Newburg, AR, Donald was the son of the late Rance and Sylvia Blankenship. He was predeceased by his siblings Huey, Gulley, Versie, Teenie, Viva, Sadie, and Francis Ann, and is survived by his sisters Mary, Linda, Sharon, and Robbie.  

Donald honorably served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked in the steel and lumber industries throughout his life. A devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, he found strength in his faith, which he held dear throughout his life. Above all, he loved his family deeply and will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to them and his faith.
