Donald “Don” Waymon Keirn, 71 of Independence, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Don was born January 19, 1949 in West Plains, MO, to Homer & Bernice (Phelps) Keirn. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Don loved working outside in the yard, going camping, fishing, and watching KC Chiefs and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Michelle Johnston; brother, Wayne Keirn; and sister-in-law, Joyce Keirn.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly of the home; two daughters: Katie Butler (Jason) of Sibley, MO, and Krystal Keirn of North Kansas City, MO; son-in-law, Dave Johnston of Independence, MO; six grandchildren: Jeremy, Jake (Brittney), Elizabeth (Tim), Taylor, Baylee, and Jillian; four great-grandchildren: Rosalyn, Xander, Adysyn, and Braelynn; sister, Joan Stephens (Ed) of Highlandville, MO; brother, Rocky Keirn (Valerie) of Osceola, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
