Dorothy Louise Rodgers, 86, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church ~ Odessa, Missouri. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery ~ Green wood, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mt. Tabor Methodist Church.
Dorothy was born January 9, 1937 in Grandview, Missouri to Richard Clay and Jessie Louise (Stout) Hilton. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Methodist Church Dorothy worked 25 years for the Internal Revenue Service. She enjoyed taking care of the land and loved mowing on her tractor. Dorothy made frequent trips to Las Vegas to play the progressive slot machines. She had an impressive collection of music boxes. Just a few of the things she enjoyed were, country music and feeding and watching the birds. Her favorite color was purple. But most of all Dorothy loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard Lee Hilton.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jimmie Rodgers of the home; daughters: Vicki Zwikelmaier and husband Robert of Springfield, MO, and Linda Rodgers Eberhardt of Oak Grove, MO; grandchildren: Andrew Zwikelmaier and wife Jacinda, William Zwikelmaier and wife Lauren, Elizabeth Sowers and husband Tom, Jimmie Eberhardt and wife Patricia, and Jackson & Chelsea Thomas Zwikelmaier; great-grandchildren: Hazel and Renly Zwikelmaier, Pearl, Winnie Zwikelmaier, Miles and Lafayette Sowers, Rory Zwikelmaier; brother, Herbert Allen Hilton of Albuquerque, NM.
