Gary Fanning left his earthly home on October 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Gary worked hard throughout his life and excelled in everything he did. Prior to his retirement, he held various marketing positions in the corporate insurance industry, where he used his gregarious personality, communication and managerial skills. As an energetic personality, when he wasn’t traveling for work, he was playing golf, viewing sports, doing household projects, or cooking up a new dish for friends and family.
Unbeknownst to many, he put time and energy into humbly helping others. He coached baseball, chaperoned events and volunteered for whatever was needed for his wife’s students. Between career demands, he fed the homeless, cooked, served and delivered food to the needy and provided other charitable service through his church. Before his illness, he helped with his in-law’s elder care as he brought them meals, made household repairs, ran errands, transported them, all while making them laugh with his light-hearted attitude.
His kids meant a lot to him and he was a fun and easy-going dad. In his earlier years, he rarely missed their games, recitals or theatrical performances. He often transported them along with their friends wherever and whenever they wanted to go. He was also a fun grandparent, who loved his grandkids and the activity and laughter that surrounded them.
This was the Gary we all knew and loved for the majority of his life and how he lived before he became ill. He often said he was very grateful for having lived such a great life! He will be missed by his wife, kids, grandchildren and friends. A private celebration of life dinner will be held for his family, as he requested. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers.
