Glen William Lewis, 74, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29th at Oak Grove Restoration Branch; burial of ashes in Sni Mills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Historical Society.
Glen was born March 28, 1943, in Buckner, Missouri, the son of William Glen and Jenny (Brosam) Lewis. He was a supervisor at KCP&L for 38 years, retiring in 2002. Glen built and flew his own airplane and flew to the EAA World Fly-In at Osh Kosh, WI, for 24 years, and was on the Board of the Grain Valley Airport. He was a member of the Oak Grove Restoration Branch Church, and a pastor of the Bates City RLDS Church. He was a past member of the Oak Grove School Board and Vice President of the Oak Grove Historical Society.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David and Jackie Lewis; sister, Janet Etcheson; and one son, Matthew Lewis.
His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Pat Lewis of the home; three sons: Billy Lewis of Oak Grove, Jimmy Lewis (Estelle) of Belton, MO, and Tommy Lewis of Lone Jack; one brother, Jerry Lewis (Kathy) of Oak Grove; and five grandchildren: Billy Lewis, Nicolas Lewis, Aubrey Lewis, Adelyn Lewis, and Natalie Lewis.
