James Edward Raymond, 79, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at The First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Oak Grove, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Contributions can be made to The First Baptist Church of Oak Grove – Youth Program.
James was born September 6, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles C. and Marian Louise (Pence) Raymond. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. James enjoyed woodworking and watching his wife do woodwork, hunting and trap shooting. He liked traveling and going on short road trips. James loved spending time with his family and friends. He also carried mail for the U.S. Post Office in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for over 20 years. James proudly served in the United States Air Force. He retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant with the 442nd Fighter wing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Deanna; and son, Scott Raymond.
James is survived by his wife, Norma “Cheetie” of the home; son, Bill Raymond (Stacey) of Lee’s Summit, MO; two stepchildren: nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Charles R. Raymond of Greenwood, MO; sister, Marsha A. Raymond of Green Valley, AZ; and nieces and nephews.
