
James Franklin Thompson, 82, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Private services will be held in Buckner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phoenix Hospice.
Jim was born on November 22, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Jim and Blanche (Galvin) Thompson. In 1957, he married Patricia Hutcherson. They moved to Oak Grove in 1964 where they raised their four children. Jim worked as a supervisor and General Motors for 27 years until he retired in 1992. He had many stories of the all the friends he worked with. Our memories will include him driving his nice trucks, sitting on the screened porch, and watching racing on TV.
Jim’s survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patricia Thompson; four children: Doug and Debbie Thompson, Steve and Becky Thompson, Sheila and Steve Havard, and Cindy and Tim James; eight grandchildren; and 11 (soon to be 12) great-grandchildren.
