James “Jay” Stufflebeam, 46, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his home in Independence, MO. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 6th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
Jay was born on April 3, 1970, in North Kansas City, MO, the son of Daryl & Gwen (Davies) Stufflebeam. He graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1988. Jay worked in construction and took great pride in his work. He loved the outdoors and his favorite trips were driving to the country and visiting his best friend Bryan Drummond’s property. Jay was a true friend and was always willing to help his friends and family.
Jay was preceded in death by his father Daryl; sisters, Kathy Stufflebeam and Sue Foreman; and niece Michelle Sharp.
His survivors include by his mother, Gwen; three sisters: Pam Proctor of Independence, Linda Abuhl of Platte City, and Kim Gouty of Independence; brother, Dean Stufflebeam of Independence; five nephews: Eric & Jason Proctor, Aaron Foreman, and Matthew & Nathan Abuhl; and niece, Rachel Stufflebeam.
