James “Jim” William Cocklin Jr., 53, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4620 N. Old Atherton Road, Independence, MO 64058.
Jim was born on November 23, 1967, in Higginsville, Missouri, the son of James William Sr. and Mary Louise (Grace) Cocklin. He was a general contractor in the construction field. Jim was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. His love of dogs led him to a Pitbull Rescue where he met his wife of 7 years, Charity. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sabrina. His survivors include his wife, Charity; three children: Kimberly Hitch (Jacob Bruce), Allen Hitch, and Steven Hitch (Susan); five grandchildren: Gauge Mallon, Malachi Thomas, Jeremy Hitch, McKenzie Hitch, and Hayley Hitch; and two sisters: Shawn Byrd (Brad) and LaDonna Johnson.
