Janice “Jan” Irene Ostermeyer, 82, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shepherd’s Staff Food Pantry, 1311 Sanders Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
Jan was born October 2, 1939, in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Paul Howard and Selma Irene (Jennings) Sollee. She was a homemaker and loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and animals. Jan enjoyed watching Charles Stanley when her health wouldn’t allow her to go to church. She had a green thumb and loved caring for her plants and flowers.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Ostermeyer; son, Thomas Ostermeyer; and two brothers, Kenneth and James Sollee.
Her survivors include her daughter, Jeanette Friedrich (Russell); three grandchildren, Aaron Friedrich, Tiffany Gregory (Jeremy), and Emily Bradish (John); three great-grandsons, Bryce & Jackson Gregory, and Ryder Bradish; and her beloved cat, Dannie.
