Javier “Chago” Santiago Tucson Garcia, 20, of Pleasant Valley, Missouri passed away on Saturday May 7, 2022. His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Interment in New Salem Cemetery, Independence, MO. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Chago Was born October 30, 2001 in North Kansas City, Missouri. The son of Javier Tucson Garcia and Denise Michelle Garcia.

Chago grew up in Pleasant Valley Missouri with 3 big sisters, the first and only son born to his parents. He always had his room packed with friends, literally bouncing off of the walls! Chago was an athlete, he was 4 years old when he started playing basketball & went on to play competitive football from 2nd to 7th grade, Chago also participated in basketball and wrestling during High School.

He was 12 when he started training in Brazilian jiu jitsu, Chago won his first tournament only a month after starting, with a rear naked choke that his father had taught him over the years, Chago continued to train multiple times a week and went on to win many more tournaments, earning numerous medals and trophies eventually ranking up to an orange belt. He loved soccer, UFC, his family and his loyal dog, Max. Chago was a provider by nature, he was a hard worker and had always tried to meet the needs of those he loved, he never wanted anyone to feel left out, and would go out of his way to make sure everyone felt included. A true friend, a loving son, brother, uncle and cousin.

He is survived by his father, Javier Garcia (Marisela) of Pleasant Valley, MO; mother, Denise Garcia of Kansas City, MO; three sisters: Afton Worley, Sativa Garcia (Kolby Knight) and Magdalene Garcia (Leo Porras) MO; his significant other, Breyauna Harris; all of Kansas City; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Jesus Garcia and Soledad De Garcia of Prairie View, MO; maternal grandmother and grandfather, Larry and Sharon Martin of Independence, MO; three nieces: Ka’Mya Worley, Mackenah Worley, and Semaj Caruthers; nephew, Leonardo Porras; Aunt Kellie Rue; Uncle Keith Walker; Aunt Norma Patricia Chavez (Guillermo); Uncle Jaime Garcia (Norma); and many cousins.

Chago is preceded in death by maternal great-grandmother, Doris R. Owen; uncle, Russell Rue, aunt, Kimberly Malone; brother, Michael Douglas.
