They did a great job and I will be forever grateful to them. Brick also changed the tail-light on my car for me. That might seem like no big deal for some, but for a single lady living on her own, that meant the world to me. Thank you, Brick for being such a great person. RIP my friend.

I met Brick at the Welcome House, we were roommates for a brief time. We both eventually left, went our separate ways.

Three years later I returned to the Welcome House, finding myself in need of their services once again.

When I walked in the front door, there was Brick to greet me, having returned himself just one week before.

Aside from our heights, we had a lot in common. We had both been in the car business for a couple of decades. We both had lived in Colorado. We had the same sense of humor, and would crack each other up.

He will be missed by many, he probably had no idea by how many lives he had touched. R.I.P. Brick

Without a doubt one of the best friends I ever had. He was a good man with a good heart and I’ll miss him dearly.

I am so sorry to hear about Brick’s passing, and I know it’s been a rough time for you after losing your mother, too. My deepest sympathy to you. I have fond memories of Brick from the time I spent there on 52nd Street, playing with Brick and Steve Crosby and the Ruby brothers. We had a lot of good times in the hood! I also have fond memories of Brick as the scrappy catcher you mentioned. We were both little dudes, so shared that competitive edge/need to go all out to try to hang with the bigger kids growing up. In high school Brick was an entertaining friend and it was great to see him at parties or just hanging out (at the Raytown McDonald’s mostly), because we always had that St. B’s area connection. I know he was a great friend to Steve over the years, and while I hadn’t seen him for years, I was sad to hear about his passing and I’m sorry to hear of his struggles. I will be out of town when you’re having the service or I would have been there to pay my respects. I’ll pour a little out for the homie Brick, and I will always remember the fun times we had. Take care of yourself and try to remember the good times with him and your dear sweet mother.
