Jesse D. Sanders


Jesse Delano Sanders, 82, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024. His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO.

Jesse was born March 29, 1942, in Versailles, Missouri, the son of Robert Lee and Fannie Edith (Marriett) Sanders. He had 9 brothers and sisters: Bob, Bill, Helen, Dickey, Jerry, Shirley, Doug, Dale, and Kathy. He was really close to his family. Jesse was a carpenter and built custom windows and doors. He loved the outdoors, taking care of his garden and yard. He loved to travel, especially to North Carolina to visit family and go to the beach. Jesse liked watching Western movies, wrestling, and football on TV. He also loved country music and going to tractor pulls.

Jesse enjoyed coon hunting when able and had many hunting buddies. He talked to many of them while sitting in his yard swing.

Jesse loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. He was always there for you if you needed anything.

Jesse’s survivors include his wife, Lillian Sanders of the home; three children: Deborah Johnson of Oak Grove, Micheal Coon (Pamela) of Grain Valley, MO, and Victoria Lancaster of Bates City; nine grandchildren: Heather Johnson, Justin Coon, Melissa Johnson, Michael Vincent Graham, Andrea Hill, Jessica Lancaster, Cody Sanders, Tory DeShepard, and Paige Sanders; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Thompson of Grain Valley, and Kathy Griffy (Gary) of Independence, MO; and brother, Dale Sanders (Shirley) of Cole Camp, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Paul Anthony “Tony” Sanders, six brothers, and one sister.

Most important of all to Jesse, he believed Christ Jesus was the only begotten son of our God Jehovah. If we believe and have faith following what Jesus taught in the Bible, we will have everlasting life with Him when He becomes King of this world. Amen.
