Joann I. Hibler, 88, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Her family will receive guests from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21st at the church, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Services League of Oak Grove on her behalf.
Joann was born on June 5, 1935, in Buckner, Missouri, the daughter of John D. and Freda (Van Camp) Hedrick. She was married to her sweetheart, Donnie (Donald Hibler) on February 13, 1952. Together in nearly 72 years of marriage, they were proud of the family and home they built. Joann was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, who was happy to tell you about her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their families.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 2014; son, Baby Boy Hibler; grandson, Christopher Robinson in 1976; and four siblings, Margaret Stewart, Richard Hedrick, Danny Hedrick, and Doris Nichelson.
Her survivors include four children: Donald Hibler Jr. (Paula) of Bates City, Pamela Robinson (Roger) of Bates City, Becky McPherson (Otis) of Bates City, and Tammy Jo Vroom of Oak Grove; 11 grandchildren: Erin Hibler, R.J. Robinson, Trae Hibler, Quentin Robinson, Joshuah Peter, Alisha Robinson, Tyler Hibler, Tripp Donovan, Tara McPherson, Paige Loper, and Rebecca McPherson; 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gail Hibler (Cheryl); and brother, J.D. Hedrick (Carol) of Raytown, MO.
