
John Nathaniel Jamison, 86, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence. Services will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 8th, with Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Visitation at 10:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Old Mendon Cemetery, Mendon, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph the Worker.
John was born February 29, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Earl and Sophia (Pycior) Jamison. He was married to his loving wife, Patricia Long, for 63 years. He graduated from De La Salle Military Academy in 1950. John served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 and was in the Korean War. He graduated from Finlay Engineering College and retired from Independence Power & Light after 32 years of service. John was a creative artist and woodcarver, portraying his favorite hobbies of hunting waterfowl and deer. He was a sportsman who enjoyed the Royals, Chiefs, & Fort Osage Indians, where he previously served as booster club president.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Jamison.
Survivors include his wife Patricia; two sons: Michael Jamison (Tammy) of Bucklin, MO, and Gregory Jamison (Beverly) of Raytown, MO; granddaughter, Emily of Bucklin, MO; one sister, Rose Anne Jett of Shawnee, KS; as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins.
